About GramsToCupConverter.com
A kitchen measurement reference published by DixonAppStudio LLC
Who we are
GramsToCupConverter.com is published by DixonAppStudio LLC, a small independent software studio based in Elgin, South Carolina, USA. The studio builds free calculators, converters and games for the web, Android and iPhone, including the All-in-1 Converter Calculator app. You can see everything the studio makes at dixonappstudio.com.
The site is written and maintained by the studio's team. Questions, corrections and data requests go to support@dixonappstudio.com.
What this site does
It converts weight to volume for 139 individual ingredients using their density, converts between common kitchen units, scales recipes, and explains why a cup of flour and a cup of sugar do not weigh the same. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type into a converter is uploaded.
Where the numbers come from
Every conversion reads from one table of grams-per-cup values. 131 of the 139 figures are checked against two published references: USDA FoodData Central's household measures (the SR Legacy release) and King Arthur Baking's ingredient weight chart. The few ingredients neither source lists are marked as estimates on their pages.
The values assume the spooned-and-levelled method: dry ingredients spooned lightly into a dry measuring cup and swept flat. Where the two references disagree — usually because one weighed a dipped cup and the other a sprinkled one — the ingredient's page shows both figures and says which one this site uses. The full table is on the methodology page.
How the site is funded
Two ways. Pages carry display advertising served by Google AdSense, always labelled "Advertisement" and never placed above a converter's inputs. Some pages also link to kitchen equipment on Amazon; as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, and pages with those links say so.
Neither advertisers nor affiliate programmes have any say in the figures. The numbers are not for sale, and there is no sponsored content on the site.
What we will not do
- Publish a figure we cannot trace to a source or clearly label as an estimate.
- Show Amazon prices or ratings unless they come live from Amazon's own API and carry the time they were fetched.
- Gate anything behind an email address — the printable chart is a direct download.
- Let a commission or an advertiser change what a converter tells you.
Corrections
If a conversion here is wrong, email support@dixonappstudio.com with the ingredient and the source you are comparing against. Corrections are checked against the references above and fixed across every page at once, because every page reads from the same table.
